Authentic Child Portraiture

Photos you’ll be eager to print, proud to display and pass on for generations. iPhone snapshots are wonderful to document the everyday, but it’s time for elevated more polished portraits. Images that dig a little deeper. Designed to draw out your child’s true personality and capture the details you never want to forget. Perhaps it’s those sweet curls, elbow dimples or toothy grin. The special traits you want to hold onto forever. Isn’t it bittersweet that they grow so quickly? This is the next best thing to freezing time, mama.

Clients shall receive:

  • Advanced access to Style & Select styling tool and children's client closet link.
  • Access to Hardyston Studio for session and location guide.
  • Includes custom creative concepts and props that Tale of James possesses.
  • Session length of 30-45 minutes total (includes prep time and shooting time)
  • Gallery of 10 photos, including a mix of "posed" and candid portraits with ability to purchase additional images from gallery.
  • High resolution, full color, edited digital images delivered via online gallery with simple download.
  • Turn-around time of 15 business days.


Session fee includes time together plus edited digital images. A non-refundable retainer of $150 is due to reserve your space. Remaining balance is due one week before your session. Should inclement weather occur, session reschedule date will be offered at no additional fee. Reschedules must take place within two months of original session date.

Open to children and siblings of all ages. Babies should be able to sit up on his or her own please. time with each child, doing her best to capture his or her individual spirit. Some time shall be allocated to photograph siblings together.

Exact location is tbd, but can take place in Hardyston Studio, and within 30 miles of Hardyston, NJ (location more than 30 miles away with have a travel fee).

To book your session, select from the links below according to the age of your child. The only difference in package is the way the questionnaire is tailored to each age group. If booking for multiple children, book the oldest age applicable and fill out answers to each question for each child involved in the session.
